DIVA DIONNE CHARACTER

Dionne Character woke-up one morning, decided to write a book, started her own publishing company and within 6 months, she became an Essence Festival Best-Selling Author. Her first book, 7 Pairs of Black Shoes, which was accompanied by a CD she produce and recorded all of her own vocals, was as authentic as her name.  Character’s first signing was with heavy hitters like Eric Jerome Dickey, Mary Morrison, Eric Pete, Victor McGlothin, and...  She has signed at a host of events including, the Harlem Book Festival, Black Writers, Howard University, Barnes & Nobles and a host of other book stores around the globe as an Independent Author.  Featured in Rawsistaz Literary Magazine, Swagher Magazine, Sista Circle, Breakthru Media Magazine, JooMag and.., Character has created her own lane when it comes to being able to intertwine all of her God given talents, harmoniously.

Character was raised in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans.  She has been holding a microphone since the tender age of 3, as her talents seem to saturate the Entertainment Industry,  declaring her the Goddess of Entertainment, as there is nothing this Diva doesn’t have her hands involved in.  She toured Europe performing at the Umbria Jazz Festival and New York City as an opening act for Harry Connick, Jr., and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festivals, as a background singer, which led to her Theater performances in Smokey Joe’s Café, Songs In The Key Of Life, Your Arms Too Short To Box With God and a host of other musical productions as a singer.  She has taken her dreams of becoming an Author to hosting Celebrity Red Carpet Events, becoming an On-Air Personality with 102.9 alongside Big Herc, Producing her own Entertainment TV Show, Hosting Poetry Nights, while giving back to the children with her Writing With Character Creative Writing Program.
